How The Little Kite Learned to Fly

Let's start:

Katherine Pyle (1863–1938), an American artist, poet, and children's author was born in Wilmington, Delaware. Her first major success occurred in 1898 with The Counterpane Fairy. In the course of her career she wrote over 30 books and illustrated the works of others.

ক্যাথরিন পাই (১৮৬৩-১৯৩৮), আমেরিকান শিল্পী, কবি এবং শিশুদের লেখক ডিলাওয়ারের উইলমিংটনে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন। তার প্রথম বড় সাফল্য ১৮৯৮ সালে কাউন্টারপেন ফেইরি এর সাথে এসেছিল। কর্মজীবন চলাকালীন তিনি ৩০ টিরও বেশি বই লিখেছিলেন এবং অন্যের কাজের চিত্র তুলে ধরেছিলেন।

"I never can do it", the little kite said,

As he looked at the other things high over his head.

"I know I should fall if I tried to fly."

"Try", said the big kite," only try!

Or I fear you never will learn at all."

But the little kite said: "I'm afraid I'll fall."

কিন্তু ছোট্ট ঘুড়িটি বলল: "আমি ভয় পাচ্ছি আমি পড়ে যাব" 

The big kite nodded: "Ah, well, goodbye;"

বড় ঘুড়ি মাথা নাড়াল: "আহা, ভাল, বিদায়;"

I am off." And he rose toward their tranquil sky.

আমি চলে গেলাম। "এবং সে তাদের প্রশান্ত আকাশের দিকে উঠল।

Then the little kite's paper stirred at the sight.

তখন ছোট্ট ঘুড়িটির কাগজটি দেখে আলোড়ন ফেলে।

And trembling he shook himself free for flight

এবং কাঁপতে কাঁপতে সে নিজেকে মুক্ত করে দিলো উড়ানের জন্য

 

First whirling and frightened, then braver grown,

প্রথমে ঘূর্ণি এবং আতঙ্কিত, তারপরে সাহস বেড়ে উঠেছে,

Up, up he rose through the air alone,

উপরে, সে একা বাতাসে উঠেছিল,

Till the big kite looking down could see

যতক্ষণ না নীচে থাকা বড় ঘুড়ি দেখতে পেল

The little one rising steadily.

ছোট্টটি স্থিরভাবে উঠছে।

Then how the little kite thrilled with pride,

তখন যেভাবে ছোট্ট ঘুড়িটি গর্বিত হয়ে শিহরিত হয়েছিল,

As he sailed with the big kite side by side!

সে বড়ো ঘুড়ির সঙ্গে পাশাপাশি চলছিল!

While far below he could see the ground,

যখন অনেক নিচে সে মাটি দেখতে পেল,

 

And the boys like small spots moving round.

আর ছেলেরা ছোট ছোট দাগের মতো চলাফেরা করে।

They rested high in the quiet air,

তারা উচ্চ শান্ত বাতাসে বিশ্রাম নিয়েছিল,

And only the birds and clouds were there.

এবং কেবল মাত্র ছিল পাখি এবং মেঘ।

"Oh, how happy I am," the little kite cried.

"ওহ, আমি কত খুশি" ছোট্ট ঘুড়িটি চিত্‍কার করে বলল।

"And all because I was brave and tried."

"এবং সমস্ত কিছুর কারণ ছিল আমি সাহসী এবং চেষ্টা করেছিলাম।"
